Cayman Islands
12 December 2022
The Cayman Islands Ministry of Tourism is inviting applications for its annual scholarship.
The Cayman Islands Ministry of Tourism is inviting applications for its annual scholarship. For the past 26 years, the Ministry of Tourism scholarships has been awarded to hundreds of students as either full or partial scholarships to further their education locally or internationally.
The annual scholarship is designed for students who wish to pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an approved tourism or tourism-related discipline and who demonstrate a need for financial assistance in order to achieve this goal.
The scholarship programme is an effort on the part of the Ministry of Tourism to increase the number of Caymanians involved in the tourism sector, providing them with access to a strong educational foundation which will prepare them for up to senior level positions.
The Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Kenneth Bryan remarked, “Tourism is a pillar of our economy and it is therefore essential that we provide young Caymanians with the foundation and qualifications needed to thrive in this industry. The government is investing heavily in training and the scholarship programme is just one of the many opportunities that the Department of Tourism is making available to our young people who wish to develop a career in tourism and hospitality.”
In awarding this scholarship, the following criteria will be taken into account. Candidates must:
