British Airways has announced an increase in service from Grand Cayman to London Heathrow Airport from four to five flights weekly – Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The service will be shared with Nassau, Bahamas effective April 2020.
Diane Corrie, Commercial Manager Caribbean for British Airways, said: “This expansion in airlift perfectly complements initiatives to bring more visitors to the island and to offer increased options for travel to London and beyond from the Cayman Islands.”
The addition of a fifth flight, Mrs. Corrie predicted, “will better serve representatives of the corporate community including the business and finance sector and other residents of Cayman who travel frequently on British Airways for business and leisure and to visit friends and family.”
She said that a boost in visitor arrivals from the United Kingdom and London to the Cayman Islands was also expected.
British Airways is this year celebrating 100 years of flying. In addition to celebrating with customers worldwide, British Airways has led the debate on “the future of flying”, taken the delivery of 72 new aircraft and introduced its Club Suite, a new business class seat with direct aisle access.
