As part of an ongoing trade re-engagement plan, the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) has launched a new five-module training course with Online Travel Training (OTT).

The course, which can be found at http://caymanislands-training.co.uk is made up of five straightforward modules providing a one-stop-shop for information about the Cayman Islands. As well as a general overview of the destination, the course includes sections entitled ‘How to sell the Cayman Islands’ and ‘Who to sell the Cayman Islands to’ enabling travel professionals to identify the most suitable clients from their customer base to sell the destination to.

The enhanced training course comes as part of a major trade re-engagement plan at the CIDOT Europe office, based in London. A dedicated ‘Guide to Selling the Cayman Islands’ was produced towards the end of 2017 for travel agents and tour operators, and Richard Trasler, Marketing Executive for the CIDOT, delivered the first ever training session for travel industry professionals via the Facebook Live streaming service in December. This was also in association with OTT.

Don McDougall, Regional Manager CIDOT Europe said: “As demand for holidays in the Cayman Islands is increasing, we need to ensure that our travel industry colleagues are equipped with everything they need to sell this beautiful destination. As the world’s leading provider of free courses for travel agents, it made perfect sense for us to team up with OTT.”

The first 100 UK agents to complete all five new modules successfully will receive a Cayman Islands goodie bag.

The Cayman Islands are three idyllic islands located in the western Caribbean. British Airways serves the largest island, Grand Cayman, with a direct flight four times per week from London Heathrow. Same-day connections are also available through Miami.
